As I was reading through this assignment's readings, what intrigued me the most was the amazing work of Josef Müller-Brockmann. Josef's way of communicating to the viewers without incorporating his own sense of personal opinion or feeling is very inspiring and a great feat within itself. Although his work has been done a half-century ago, his work stood the test of time and has given me a new perspective on layout, communication, and visual harmony.

Müller-Brockmann's pieces above are aesthetically pleasing, combining grey and brown tones with a hint of color by adding in slight sections of a red hue, which make for a texturized, minimal look. In addition, his choice of layouts, utilizing an overlap display for the Swiss Auto Club poster and a diagonal orientation for the public awareness poster showcases Josef's experimentation with his design. This is inspiring to me because it exposes me to the different possibilities as a graphic designer to test and play with different layouts, and essentially think outside the box.
